The iPad is killing it, but so are mobile web apps
We don’t need to tell anyone how hawt the iPad is right now, so we won’t. (We will, however, let you in on a little secret: we’re working hard on a full-featured iPad apps section of our site this very moment, to complement our Android apps and iPhone apps section).
The other, less talked about news of the last few days or so has been the plethora of awesome mobile web/HTML5 apps that have appeared. Here’s a quick rundown of a few of those apps now on AppStoreHQ:
- Gmail for iPad: A slick-as-hell new web based interface for Gmail, optimized for the iPad. Folks are lovin’ this.
- AdWords for mobile: Manage your AdWords accounts directly from any web-enabled smartphone.
- Blue Nile Mobile Diamond Search: Buy that special someone (or yourself!) that new diamond ring from the comfort of your couch. Or car. Or bus. Or…
- The White House To Go: Follow The White House updates, blog posts, video, and more from this free, simple web app.
- WolframAlpha Free Mobile Web: WolframAlpha’s native iPhone app used to cost $50. Now it costs $1.99. But this full featured web app is free.
Enjoy, and let us know what you think!
